๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Introducing the New Point of Interest Search Layer in Zors

The Zors franchise intelligence platform just got smarter.

Weโ€™re excited to announce the launch of our Point of Interest (POI) Search Map Layer. This new tool gives franchisors, developers, and consultants a powerful way to explore, analyze, and export business data directly from the map - all integrated in one easy-to-use platform.

Whether youโ€™re evaluating competitors, searching for co-tenancy opportunities, or validating site selection, Zors now makes it easy to find exactly whatโ€™s around any point on the map.

๐Ÿ” How It Works

Using the new POI layer is simple and flexible. Hereโ€™s a quick overview:

  • Choose where to search โ€“ You can:

    • Turn on the territory layer and look within an existing or pre-built territory.

    • Manually zoom to any spot on the map.

    • Or type in a specific city or street address.

Activate the POI Layer โ€“ Turn on the POI map layer, and a popup window will appear. From here, you can:

    • Use the dropdown to select a business category (e.g., Fast Food Restaurant).

    • Or type in the name of a specific business brand (e.g., Starbucks).

  • Define the search radius โ€“ Set the radius around the mapโ€™s center point to control how wide your search reaches.

    • Each query will return up to 50 results with an option to keep adding.

    • Adjust categories and search radius as needed

Review results & export โ€“ View data for each location directly on the map, or extract a CSV report with details like name, address, phone, website, and popularity score.

    • Visualize on the map

    • Explore location details (Click "Zoom to Location" or change to "Satellite" view to explore each site

    • Export the data

๐Ÿ“Š What Data Do You Get?

The exported CSV file provides rich business intelligence to support sales, development, and operational decisions.

Hereโ€™s a breakdown of the key fields:

  • Name โ€“ The business or brand name.

  • Address โ€“ Full location details for mapping and outreach.

  • Categories โ€“ Industry tags (e.g., Fast Food Restaurant, Mexican Restaurant).

  • Rating โ€“ Customer review rating, when available (1-10 scale)

  • Phone โ€“ Direct contact number for outreach.

  • Website โ€“ Official site or ordering page.

  • Latitude & Longitude โ€“ Precise coordinates for accurate mapping.

  • Price Level โ€“ A cost scale indicator (helpful for co-tenancy analysis).

โญ Spotlight on the Popularity Score

One of the most powerful data points in the new export is the Foursquare Popularity Score โ€” a dynamic measure of how well a business location is performing.

How Popularity is Measured By the Provider

  • Foot Traffic โ€“ Based on actual visits over the past six months.

  • User Interactions โ€“ A composite of:

    • Check-ins: Visits logged at the location.

    • Likes/Dislikes: Positive or negative feedback.

    • Tips: Recommendations or warnings left by visitors.

    • Photos: User-submitted images tied to the business.

How to Interpret the Score

  • The score is expressed on a 0 to 1 scale.

  • It represents relative popularity across all POIs within the United States.

  • The most popular POI is assigned a value close to 0.9999.

  • Other businesses are ranked in proportion to that top performer.

    • Example: a score of 0.70 suggests the location attracts about 70% of the engagement compared to the most popular POI nationwide.

    • Lower scores indicate smaller but still measurable levels of activity.

Why Popularity Matters

The Popularity Score provides a real-world pulse check on how attractive a location is to customers.

  • Gauge Success โ€“ A higher score suggests a thriving, well-visited location.

  • Benchmark Competitors โ€“ Compare against rival businesses to identify strengths and gaps.

  • Guide Strategic Decisions โ€“ Combine Popularity with demographic and territory data in Zors to make informed choices about site selection, marketing, and local partnerships.

๐Ÿš€ Why This Matters for Franchisors & Developers

With the new POI Search Layer, you can:

  • Spot competitors instantly โ€“ See whoโ€™s already in your target market.

  • Identify co-tenancy opportunities โ€“ Find complementary businesses that drive traffic.

  • Build outreach lists โ€“ Export contact information for networking and marketing.

  • Validate site health โ€“ Combine POI data with Zorsโ€™ existing demographic and territory tools to ensure your locations are positioned for success.

๐Ÿ”— Seamlessly Integrated with Territory Mapping

What makes the POI Search Layer especially powerful is how naturally it fits into the Zors franchise territory mapping interface. Instead of jumping between different tools, you can now analyze business points of interest directly within your territories:

  • Overlay with Territories โ€“ Run POI searches inside your existing or proposed franchise territories, ensuring no opportunities or competitors are overlooked.

  • Check Overlaps โ€“ See exactly which POIs fall inside or just outside of your mapped boundaries.

  • Combine with Demographics โ€“ Layer business data alongside population, income, and other demographic insights for a complete market snapshot.

  • Faster Decision-Making โ€“ All your key data โ€” territories, demographics, and now points of interest โ€” lives in one interface, reducing time spent cross-referencing multiple platforms.

This seamless integration transforms Zors from a mapping tool into a single hub for franchise market intelligence โ€” where competitive insights, customer data, and territory strategy come together in one view. Take it to the next level with CRM contact mapping and territory overlays.
